Who can do this?
Every signed-in user sets theme, font and time zone for their own account. You do not need special access for this.
Appearance, theme and font
In the “Visuals & Editor” section you set theme, editor font and time zone.
What is it for?
You often write for long stretches at a time. That is why Illumentis adapts to your eyes and your habits: you choose between four themes, pick the font for the editor and set the time zone in which your writing day begins and ends.
The theme determines the look of the interface, from the dark “Dark Space” to the light “Pure Paper”. The editor font changes only how your text looks in the editor, not the text itself and not your exports.
The settings are stored in your account and therefore apply on every device where you are signed in. On the sign-in page there is also a switch for light and dark.
How it works
-
Open the account settings and choose the “Visuals & Editor” section.
What you see afterwards: The “Theme”, “Editor font” and “Timezone” sections appear.
-
Choose a theme: “Dark Space”, “Pure Paper”, “Hybrid” or “System Auto”.
What you see afterwards: The interface changes immediately. “System Auto” follows the setting of your device.
-
Choose an editor font: “Literata (default)”, “Lora”, “Plus Jakarta Sans” or “Comic Neue”.
What you see afterwards: The editor shows your text in the new font.
-
Choose your time zone from the list.
What you see afterwards: Illumentis calculates your writing day in this time zone.
Your data
Illumentis stores theme, font and time zone in the settings of your account. They are part of your data access. Other authors do not see them.
Limits
The editor font affects only the display in the editor, not exports. Fonts for dyslexia and the color spectrum of the writing surface are under “Accessibility”. Illumentis uses a time zone only once you have chosen one. Until then, it calculates the writing statistics in UTC.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the time zone show my device time although I have not chosen anything?
The list shows you the time zone of your device as a suggestion. It is saved only when you select a time zone. Until then, Illumentis calculates the writing statistics in UTC. So choose your time zone explicitly once.
Does the theme change my exported documents?
No. The theme applies only to the interface, and the editor font only to the display in the editor.
