Terms of use and beta notices

Available Free Last reviewed: 24 Oct 2026

After signing in, you confirm the beta notices once per version, and then you carry on.

What is it for?

After signing in, Illumentis shows a screen of its own with the most important notes on the beta status of the app. You read a numbered list, confirm with a checkbox that you have read and understood it, and continue to the welcome onboarding or to your shelf. The screen is generally called terms of use: after the beta ends, the same view is meant to show the final terms that apply then.

The notices cover, among other things: the app is a beta, taking part is free of charge, you must be at least 18 years old, availability is not assured, and the interface can change. They also cover data loss, with the urgent recommendation to export regularly, your rights to your works, your responsibility for your content, reporting bugs and security vulnerabilities, beta access and the transition to regular operation, data protection and liability.

The wording in the app is what counts. This page only summarizes and is not a substitute for legal advice.

How it works

  1. Sign in or accept an invitation.

What you see afterwards: If you have not yet confirmed the current version, “Before you start: a quick note on Illumentis' beta status” opens.

  2. Read the list. At the point on data protection, “View privacy notice” opens the privacy policy in a new tab.

What you see afterwards: You know the notices.

  3. Tick the checkbox “I have read and understood the notes above and want to continue with onboarding.”

What you see afterwards: The checkbox is ticked. Without it, “Please confirm that you've read the notes first.” appears.

  4. Choose “Confirm and continue”.

What you see afterwards: You reach your shelf, or onboarding first if you have not finished it yet.

Who can do this?

All signed-in users confirm the notices for their own account. Nobody can give the confirmation for another account.

Your data

The confirmed version and the time are stored, in your account and not on the device. Both appear in your data access export. The confirmation therefore applies on every device you sign in with.

Limits

You cannot decline the screen; without confirmation, Illumentis redirects you back here when you navigate. If the text changes, for example when the beta gives way to the final terms, Illumentis asks again on the next page change, even in a running session.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I do not tick the checkbox?

The button shows the note that you need to confirm first, and you stay on the screen.

Do I have to confirm again after switching to another device?

No. The confirmed version is stored in your account.

When will I be asked again?

When the version changes, for example with the final terms after the beta. The screen then appears on the next navigation.

Where does the privacy link lead?

To the privacy policy of Bluegreen Solutions, in a German or English version, depending on the app language.
