Bookworms are the optional in-app currency; your balance and history show where they come from and where they go.
Bookworms are an in-app currency for the progress area. You earn them through rewards, for example for writing challenges, daily and weekly goals, badges, titles, frames, the talent tree and taking part in the community. You spend them in the shop, on gifts, on donations to community goals and in the collectible card game. You do not need them for the core features.
You reach the “Bookworms Economy” page through the “Shop” tile in the progress hub. Your balance (“{balance} Bookworms”) is at the top, and below it are the tabs “Shop”, “Inventory”, “Gifts” and “History”. The balance stays visible in every tab.
The “History” tab shows two lists: “My purchases” with the sum under “Total paid:”, and the “Bookworm history”, a paged list of all movements with the reason and the balance after each one (“Balance after”). How many Bookworms a reward brings is set by the operator.
In the progress hub, choose the “Shop” tile.

Illumentis stores your balance and every movement with its reason and timestamp. For purchased Bookworms, the amount paid appears in your history. Every booking changes balance and history together or not at all.
A spend cannot take your balance below zero. Only a refund may push it into the negative, if the Bookworms being returned had already been spent. The history shows 25 entries per page. Bookworms can only be transferred between accounts through gifts and donations.
