Who can do this?
Everyone who may write a chapter can use offline mode. The Offline Validator Lite appears only in projects whose owner has the matching Studio active; a trial period is not enough.

Illumentis saves your text locally in the browser and syncs it as soon as the connection is back.
Illumentis runs as a web app in the browser and can be installed as an app. On first load, the app tells you that it is now usable offline as well. If the connection drops, you keep writing: the editor saves your text locally in the browser, and the status indicator shows “Offline – saved locally”.
When the connection returns, Illumentis syncs the text with the server automatically. If the chapter has changed elsewhere in the meantime, you choose in the conflict dialog how to proceed. A mention created offline with “@” is saved as a placeholder and linked to the real entry later.
Illumentis announces new app versions, and you decide when to use “Update now”. If the local backup fails, the app shows an emergency text rescue. The Offline Validator Lite checks simple writing errors without a network.
Open Illumentis in the browser and install the app if you like.
What you see afterwards: The app reports “Illumentis is now also usable offline.”
Keep writing, even if the connection drops.

The browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) holds the draft, the sync status and, for conflicts, the server version of each chapter. On devices with an active client protection shield, this storage is encrypted.
Offline, only functions that work without a server are available; the continuity check of the Illuminatio Engine runs online. How much space the browser provides depends on your device. If local storage is full or blocked, Illumentis shows “Critical storage error – text not saved!”. Do not close the tab then.
Do not close the tab. Copy the text with “Copy text to clipboard” or download it with “Emergency download as .txt”. Then restore an internet connection or free up space on the device.
When Illumentis reports “A new version of Illumentis is available.”, you choose “Update now” whenever it suits you.
Simple writing errors: name drift, placeholders, number contradictions, duplicate sentences, format and typography inconsistencies, quotation marks and brackets, formatting hygiene, duplicate chapter headings and lexicon name drift. The check runs locally in the browser.
