The library shows displayed, published books from the community; others leave congratulations.
The Library of Alexandria shows publicly displayed, published and lore-locked books from the Illumentis community. Each entry consists of a cover, title, author, blurb, genre and, if available, an external link that opens in a new tab. The newest entries are at the top. You find the library in the “Inspiration” area.
For a book you want to display, the book’s detail page has a section called “Library of Alexandria”. The requirements are the publication status “Final” and an active Lore lock. You choose a “Cover image”, write the “Blurb”, optionally add an “External link (purchase/publisher)” and a “Link label”, and choose “Add to the library”. Displaying a book is voluntary; with “Remove from the library” you take the book out again.
When you add a book, its cover, blurb, genre and external link become publicly visible. The content of the book, meaning chapters and worldbuilding, is not shared by this. Others appreciate a book with “Leave a congratulations bookmark”; there are neither comments nor stars.
In the “Inspiration” area, open the “Library of Alexandria”.
What you see afterwards: The entries appear as a list.
For a book, choose “Leave a congratulations bookmark”.
What you see afterwards: The label changes to “Bookmark left ✓”, and the counter goes up. A second click takes it back.
As the owner, open the detail page of your book and, in the section “Library of Alexandria”, choose “Add to the library”.
What you see afterwards: The book is listed in the library; “Remove from the library” appears.

When you add a book, its cover, blurb, genre, external link and your display name become publicly visible, to other author accounts in Illumentis. The book itself stays private. A congratulation is a reaction without free text.
The blurb can have at most 2,000 characters. The link must begin with http or https and can have at most 2,048 characters, and the link label at most 255. Each account can leave one congratulation per book. Making your profile private does not take your books out of the library; to do that, you have to remove them there.
