After your first sign-in you confirm the beta notices and see the welcome page.
Before you use Illumentis for the first time, two pages appear one after the other. They explain that Illumentis is still in its beta phase, and they let you decide on an optional setting.
On the first page you read the beta notices and confirm them with a checkmark. It is like the house rules you sign before moving in: you know what you are getting into. If the notices change later, Illumentis asks you to confirm them again.
On the second page, the welcome page, you learn that Illumentis saves your manuscripts automatically. There you also decide whether you want to send anonymous data to help improve the app. The default is off.
Sign in for the first time.
What you see afterwards: The page “Before you start: a quick note on Illumentis’ beta status” opens.
Read the notices and tick the box “I have read and understood the notes above and want to continue with onboarding.”
What you see afterwards: With the box ticked, you can finish the page.
Choose “Confirm and continue”.
What you see afterwards: The page “Welcome to your workroom” opens.
Decide whether you want to “Send anonymous latency & sync data for app optimization”.
What you see afterwards: On your first visit the switch is off.
Choose “Enter the shelf” or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac).
What you see afterwards: Your shelf opens.

The confirmation of the notices and the completion of onboarding are stored in your account, not in your browser. They therefore apply on every device. Illumentis sends anonymous latency and sync data only if you turn the switch on. You can change the choice later under “Data & Privacy” in the account settings.
As long as the confirmation is missing, Illumentis redirects every other page to the beta notices. Without the checkmark, the page cannot be finished. Onboarding appears only once per account. The beta notices come back when their version changes.
No. As long as you have not confirmed the beta notices, Illumentis redirects you to this page. On the welcome page you finish onboarding with “Enter the shelf” or with Ctrl+Enter.
In the account settings, in the “Data & Privacy” section. The same switch is there, labeled “Send anonymous latency & sync data for app optimization”.
