Who can do this?
Owners and co-authors with the right permissions create terms, edit them, move them to the trash and restore them. They adopt or discard suggestions with their own permissions. Guests only see terms once they are shared.

In the glossary you keep the terms of your world, and Illumentis suggests recurring words from your texts.
Every invented world has its own words: proper names, titles, technical terms. In the glossary you record them with a meaning and, if needed, link them to a character, a location, a faction or a rule. That way you look up what a term means later instead of trying to remember.
New terms appear while you write, without you creating them. Illumentis reads your chapters and suggests words that are capitalized in the middle of a sentence, show up several times and are not recorded yet. They appear under “Detected terms”, with the number of mentions. You decide whether to adopt or discard them.
The detection works with simple rules, not with language understanding. It can be wrong, for example with a word that is both a noun and a place name. That is why an entry is only created once you confirm it.
In the worldbuilding group, open the “Glossary” and choose “New term”.
What you see afterwards: A dialog asks for the term and its meaning.
Enter “Term” and “Meaning”. If you like, choose a “Link (optional)” and, in the “Linked entry” field, the entry.
What you see afterwards: The term appears in the glossary.
Switch to “Detected terms”.
What you see afterwards: The list shows suggestions such as “… × mentioned, in … chapters”.
For a suggestion, choose the target type under “Adopt as”, adjust “Name” and “Meaning”, and choose “Adopt” or “Discard”.
What you see afterwards: When you adopt it, the entry is created in your project.
Owners and co-authors with the right permissions create terms, edit them, move them to the trash and restore them. They adopt or discard suggestions with their own permissions. Guests only see terms once they are shared.
The glossary and the suggestions belong to the project and are backed up and exported with it. For the detection, Illumentis reads the text of your chapters on the server. A term in the trash is kept for 30 days.
The detection only finds single words, not names made of several words: a two-word name appears as two suggestions. A suggestion is 3 to 100 characters long. The detection knows names that are already recorded and does not suggest them again. There is no limit on the number of terms in the Free plan.
The detection picks up words that occur several times and are capitalized in the middle of a sentence. Nouns are capitalized, so it also catches words that are not a term of your world. Choose “Discard” in that case.
Illumentis has matched the suggestion to an existing entry, for example a character. You see the type and can decide whether to discard or adopt it.
The suggestion comes from an import and not from your chapters.
