In the shop you buy visibility boosts with Bookworms; the inventory shows what you own and activates it.
Beta phase note: The shop is not set up in the beta. You therefore cannot use the page to buy anything at the moment.
Shop and inventory are two tabs of the “Bookworms Economy” page. The shop shows items with name, category, description and price, and the inventory shows your items with origin and status. The categories are “Visibility boost”, “One-time gift”, “Reward gift” and “Community goal badge”.
You can only buy visibility boosts directly. The other items carry the note “Not directly purchasable (only via gift/reward)”. Purchase and activation are separate steps: after the purchase, the boost sits in your inventory and only takes effect once you switch it on with “Activate”. Optionally, you enter a post ID of one of your own forum posts, which the boost highlights. After that it says “Active until …”, later “Expired”.
In the inventory, each entry names its origin: “Purchased”, “Received as a gift”, “Granted by staff” or “Community goal reward”. Depending on the item, you can “Highlight on profile” and “Highlight in thread footer”; the two switches are independent. Revoked entries carry “Revoked”.
Open “Bookworms Economy” on the “Shop” tab and choose “Buy ({price} Bookworms)” on a visibility boost.
What you see afterwards: The item shows “Purchased - activatable in your inventory” and your balance goes down.
Switch to the “Inventory” tab.
What you see afterwards: Your item appears with the origin “Purchased”.
Optionally enter the ID of one of your own forum posts under “Post ID (optional)” and choose “Activate”.
What you see afterwards: The entry shows “Active until …”.
If you like, switch on “Highlight on profile” or “Highlight in thread footer”.
What you see afterwards: The switch stays on until you switch it off or the upper limit is reached.

Illumentis stores purchases and your inventory entries with origin, activation and highlighting. A purchase appears as “Shop purchase” in the Bookworm history.
Only visibility boosts can be bought by yourself. A boost can be activated once and takes effect for the duration the item specifies. The operator sets how many items you may highlight on your profile or in the thread footer at the same time. Purchases are limited by frequency. The shop does not sell features for writing, planning or checking.
