In blind tasting you submit the opening of a chapter anonymously, and others vote without seeing a name.
In first-page blind tasting, you submit the first 250 words or so of a chapter anonymously. Other authors vote without knowing who wrote the text. This tells you whether your opening makes people want to keep reading.
The page is system-wide and has two parts: submitting with “Submit anonymously” and voting in the “Active submissions” area. When you vote, you choose “Would keep reading” or “Would not keep reading”, optionally guess the genre and give a first impression of the style: Gripping, Poetic, Confusing or Too slow.
The text appears without a name and without any link to a project. Under “My submissions”, you manage your entries and withdraw them if you like. Submit only text that you are allowed to publish.
In the “Inspiration” area, open “First-Page Blind Tasting”.
What you see afterwards: The page shows the submission field and the “Active submissions”.
Paste the first words of your chapter and choose “Submit anonymously”.
What you see afterwards: “Submitted.”
Vote on other people’s submissions with “Would keep reading” or “Would not keep reading” and “Vote”.
What you see afterwards: Your vote is counted. After that, it says “You already voted on this one.”
If you like, choose “Withdraw submission” under “My submissions”.
What you see afterwards: “Withdrawn.”

No. Illumentis rejects that. You vote on other people’s submissions, and on each only once.
