Collectible cards: catalog and collection

In progress Free Last reviewed: 24 Oct 2026

In the catalog you find cards, “My Collection” shows what you own, and fusion upgrades editions.

What is it for?

Beta phase note: The card game is not set up in the beta. The feature is built, but not available to you at the moment.

You reach the “Trading Cards” page through the tile “Card Collection” in the progress hub. It has five tabs: “Catalog”, “My Collection”, “Decks”, “Duel” and “Card Forge”. This page covers catalog and collection. Every card has a rarity (Common, Uncommon, Epic, Legendary or Mystic) and a card type (Character, Artifact, Location, Plot twist, Support or Spontaneous).

In the catalog you buy a card with “Buy ({price} Bookworms)” if it can be bought and you do not own it yet. Cards you own show “Already in your collection”. Some cards cannot be bought directly (“Not directly purchasable (unlock only)”). You unlock them via fixed conditions. Illumentis checks them when you open “My Collection” and awards every card whose condition is met, with no randomness.

In “My Collection”, each card shows edition, quantity and the origin “Unlocked”, “Purchased” or “Own proposal accepted”. If you own at least three copies of a card in one edition, the collection offers “Fuse into …”: three copies become one of the next edition. Fusing only happens on your click.

How it works

  1. In the progress hub, choose the tile “Card Collection”.

What you see afterwards: The “Catalog” tab is selected.

  2. On a card that can be bought, choose “Buy ({price} Bookworms)”.

What you see afterwards: The card shows “Already in your collection” and your balance goes down.

  3. Switch to “My Collection”.

What you see afterwards: You see your cards with edition and quantity; without cards it says “Your collection is still empty.”

  4. With three or more copies, choose “Fuse into …”.

What you see afterwards: Three copies become one copy of the next edition.

Who can do this?

All signed-in accounts see the catalog and have their own collection. You buy cards for yourself.

Your data

Illumentis stores your collection with origin and quantity, and your purchases, which appear as “Card purchased” in the Bookworm history.

Limits

Mystic cards cannot be bought. You can only buy a card while you do not own it. Fusion requires three copies of the same card in the same edition; the Signature edition is the last tier. Illumentis decides which condition unlocks a card.

Frequently asked questions

Which rarities are there?

Common, Uncommon, Epic, Legendary and Mystic.

Why can I not buy a card?

It is marked “Not directly purchasable”, it is Mystic, or you already own it. You unlock some cards through fixed conditions.

Does unlocking depend on chance?

No. Every unlockable card has a fixed condition. If you meet it and open “My Collection”, you get the card.

What does fusion do?

Three copies of a card give one copy of the next edition. The card’s weight in the deck does not depend on the edition.
